FULL DAY FLY-FISHING TRIP TO THE PETROHUE RIVER

  Experienced local guides will take you fishing to the best waters available in the Puerto Varas area. These guides work for the most reputed fly fishing lodge in the region and are constantly out on the river. This enables them to put you in the best water for the time you will be in the area.

Early in the morning, at approximately 8.00 am, your guide will meet you at the hotel in Puerto Varas. A one hour scenic ride by car along the shores of Lago Llanquihue, from the scenic lakeside town of Puerto Varas, running by the foothills of the Volcano, to the put-in at the upper section of the river where our boats and guides will be waiting for you to start the journey.

The Petrohue River flows from the Todos Los Santos Lake and empties in the Pacific Ocean at the quiet Reloncavi estuary, which is actually a deep fjord. The Petrohue float is one of the most scenic journeys in South America. This section has several braids; each one with many pools and runs.

At mid day we will have an unforgettable streamside lunch then continue our float downstream reaching the takeout point around 6:30 p.m. From this point you will be driven back to your hotel.

Rates: US$ 200 per person. Maximum 2 anglers per boat.

Bring: Rods for 6 or 7 weight lines, both floating and fast sink tip lines. A good selection of streamers as well as dry flies. Be prepared for both sun and rain.

Equimpent rental: Quality fly fishing equipment can be rented at Ch$ 27,000 per person per day for: Rod , reel, line, waders and wading boots.

Season: November through Early May

Included: 1 guided full day floating fly fishing trip to the the Petrohue River, river-side lunch, beer, and beverages. Transfers from your hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas to the river and from the river to your hotel. Plus a guided trip to the Petrohue falls if is requested.

Farewell cocktail: Hors d'oeuvres, Wine, Beer or Pisco Sour add: US$ 10 per person.

Not Included: Hotels and transfers prior to and after those included within Rìos Araucanos itinerary, gratuities, fishing equipment and fishing flies, and items of a personal nature such as telephone calls (cell Phone available at $3.00 per minute) fishing license and other items not specifically mentioned as included. Rates do not include taxes (I.V.A equal to VAT) Gratuities: The outfitter recommends 7% to 10% of the rate as total tip for the guides and staff per guest.

Reservations: In order to secure your reservation a 50% deposit is required. Sorry, no credit cards. In case of cancellation deposits are non refundable, to change your date an additional payment of 25% will be required.

Terms and conditions: The acceptance of this program implies that the person knows about the nature and risks involved in the activities to be done. In case of cancellation of the excursion by the client the deposit will not be refunded , in case of a date change the client will have to pay an additional 25%. The outfitter reserves the right to cancel or change certain activities or to restrict an individual from participating on certain activities if this result on a risk to the physical integrity of an individual or group. Under adverse climatic conditions the activities can be changed or canceled if the outfitter estimates that there is risk for an individual or the group. If canceled and if possible the activities will be substituted for other. In case an individual does not follow the instructions from a member of the crew or guide, the consequences of its actions will be of his sole responsibility and the outfitter reserves the right to exclude the individual from the activities
